Robrash 03:56
I used to ride with the crows I used to call in the light I used the happiest swirl I said so come on When you gonna come lover When you gonna come lover When you gonna come lover And you kinda can see it When you gonna come lover When you gonna come love Uh uh am I Enough this time Isn’t all am I Enough this time Face it down When I come then I’ll love him My sight set on the low I faked it all See if you were looking I can’t stall it now When you gonna come lover When you gonna come lover When you gonna come lover oh And you kinda can see it When you gonna come lover When you gonna come love oh oh Uh uh am I Enough this time Isn’t all am I Enough this time Not that I'm sure of it Right or wrong Right wrong I'm sure of it So sure of it I used to ride with the crows It helped me comfort the lies I was staring at the sun And I said so c'mon Uh uh am I Enough this time Isn’t all am I Enough this time

I’m writing poems on my phone Still wasting time by chasing yours Wonder will David ever fold? It hasn’t changed, it doesn’t show Oh what a perfect mess we made Fighting with Mars in the modern age And will he ever show his face He doesn’t change, he doesn’t show Oh, there’s a portrait on my wall Of Moroder riding a white synthesizer Oh, we’ve gone down that road before ell me are you still on the run Somewhere on earth? I run to what I know I’ve got no feeling anymore The evenings slide from being bored No gleaming past or future form It hasn’t changed, it doesn’t show Monotony by another name You read the answers on my face Some things are better left to say I haven’t changed, it doesn’t show Oh, there’s a portrait on my wall Of Moroder riding a white synthesizer Oh, we’ve gone down that road before Tell me are you still on the run Somewhere on earth? I run solo I run to what I know

Memory stone And when it all the takes hold

I came across a cache of old photos And invitations to teenage parties “Dress in white” one said with quotations From someone’s wife, a famous writer in the nineteen-twenties When you’re young you find inspiration In anyone who’s ever gone And opened up a closing door She said: “We were never feeling bored” Cause we were never being boring We had too much time to find for ourselves And we were never being boring We dressed up and fought, then thought: “Make amends” And we were never holding back or worried that Time would come to an end When I went I left from the station With a haversack and some trepidation Someone said: “If you’re not careful You’ll have nothing left and nothing to care for In the nineteen-seventies” But I sat back and looking forward My shoes were high and I had scored I bolted through a closing door I would never find myself being bored Cause we were never being boring We had too much time to find for ourselves And we were never being boring We dressed up and fought then thought: “Make amends” And we were never holding back or worried that Time would come to an end We were always hoping that, looking back You could always rely on a friend And now I sit with different faces In rented rooms and foreign places All the people I was kissing Some and here and some are missing In the nineteen-nineties I never dreamt that I would get to be The creature that I always meant to be But I thought in spite of dreams You’d be sitting somewhere here with me Cause we were never being boring We had too much time to find for ourselves And we were never being boring We dressed up and fought then thought: “Make amends” And we were never holding back or worried that Time would come to an end We were always hoping that, looking back You could always rely on a friend And we were never being boring We were never being bored And we were never being boring We were never being bored

Slug 04:10
We’re just a crumb that’s all Are the tears that far? This labyrinth how cruel I only cry when numb Hide all signs The sighs hold true An end to it She always told me to be kind You wipe away all slime If it greets you lacking love I must be making this up I wish we were alone She always told me to step aside And wipe away all slime Serpentry all men are slug I must be making this up I wish we were alone Violence was all Must I love so hard Hide all signs The sighs hold true An end to it She always told me to be kind You wipe away all slime If it greets you lacking love I must be making this up I wish we were alone She always told me to step aside And wipe away all slime Serpentry all men are slug I must be making this up I wish we were alone

about

TR/ST (fka Trust) is the musical alias of producer, singer, and performer Robert Alfons. Born in Winnipeg, Canada (but based in Los Angeles for the past decade), he has released a string of celebrated albums fusing swooning synth-pop, confessional darkwave, and anthemic emotion: 'TRST' (2012), 'Joyland' (2014), 'The Destroyer - Part One' (2019), and 'The Destroyer – Part Two' (2019). In late 2023, TR/ST joined the Dais Records roster, announcing the union with the release of the single “Robrash”, while hinting at more new music ahead.
January 2024 sees the release of the new, minimally titled 'TR/ST EP', featuring four new tracks in addition to “Robrash” : the new dancefloor heater “Run” featuring Canadian hyperpop star Cecile Believe, a beautiful cover of the Pet Shop Boys classic 1990 anthem “Being Boring” featuring Jake Shears, the delicate and gauzy nearly-ambient composition “Evercall”, and an official release of the fan favorite “Slug”, previously only released to YouTube in 2015.
Alfons confirms he is in the studio working on a new album, expanding their singular sound in ways both cinematic and surprising: “Bigger, better, beautiful, and buried in mud.”
